Smithy and The Chef is our energetic business collaboration – after we took our ‘husband and wife’ partnership to a new level. We made a treechange (to the very pretty town of Berry), bought an iconic restaurant, launched a company and hey presto here we are counting our lucky stars – hosting happy customers at Silos Restaurant and working with terrific clients to help plan and cater weddings and events across the South Coast NSW.
Returning to Australia after travelling the globe on a billionaire’s yacht cooking for the likes of Oprah, Paul McCartney, Tom Hanks, Ellen De Generes, Bruce Springsteen, Tony Blaire, and more (nice, hey!) – we can confidently say that Chef Andrew Hickie knows what food even the most discerning guests will love. Andrew also led Menu Development for ‘Stix’, one of Australia’s premium caterers, managing Qantas First Class, Etihad and Macquarie Bank clients.
Sarah (Smithy) leads our polished food and bar team as Event Manager. Her background representing Good Food Guide, Sydney International Food Festival, Sydney Opera House and high-profile celebs (name dropping over!) – Sarah brings a wealth of experience to also lead our Concierge service, offering a new premium level of service for events.
Our menus personalise the classics with food we love to eat and entertain friends with. Our food is designed to share (or graze on) for a true feast, or elegantly plated for more formal dining.
