Smithy and The Chef is the business partnership of Sarah Smith and Andrew Hickie.
After 15+ years’ experience working in the commercial and corporate sectors, Sarah and Andrew decided to take their careers and their ‘husband and wife’ partnership to the new level – becoming business partners.
Combining their skills in Hospitality, Business Management, Public Relations, Events, and a fine-dining trained Chef, the company Smithy and The Chef was born.
Smithy and The Chef are the proud owners of iconic Silos Restaurant in Berry, nestled among the vineyards on the beautiful South Coast of NSW. It’s a dream come true for the duo and a ‘homecoming’ for Sarah who grew up in the area.
A favourite dining destination among locals and visitors alike, Andrew is committed as Executive Chef to serving delicious produce-driven food with his team of talented local Chefs, working with regional suppliers and providores to compliment the menu.
As General Manager of Silos Restaurant, Sarah also leads the team for Wedding and Events services. Take a look at Smithy and The Chef’s own South Coast wedding, designed by us and featured in Hello May magazine.
When they’re not at Silos Restaurant, you’ll find Sarah and Andrew exploring their new hometown’s coffee and foodie spots. They’re committed to supporting Silos Estate on environmental sustainability and the community, and consider themselves as Ambassadors of the Shoalhaven, contributing campaigns that further promote the region to their network of industry leaders and media influencers.
